Mindfulness in the Arctic Wilderness
Mindfulness and nature retreat in Finnish Lapland
This course offers an introduction to mindfulness through the lens of nature, silence, and embodied awareness. This special course takes places in Saariselkä, surrounded by the pure landscapes of Urho Kekkonen National Park. Amidst the peaceful fells, pure air and magical light of the Arctic summer, this 5-day Erasmus+ course invites you to slow down, recharge and rediscover presence.
We explore mindfulness through lectures, practises, movement, and nature connection. The course is aimed at teachers and other professionals from all educational levels and backgrounds.
The program combines scientific and practical approaches to mindfulness with guided nature experiences, helping patricipants to cultivate inner calm, focus and relaxation and share these tools with their students and communities.
During the course, in your free time, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the beutifuls surroundings or book exciting activities if you wish. Welcome and enjoy the Arctic with us!

Understanding the theory behind Mindfulness.
Ability to practise different Mindfulness Meditation techniques.
Understanding the mechanisms behind stress, and learn how Mindfulness can help in stress management.
Explore the nature and silence of Finnish Lapland through guided hikes and outdoor mindfulness practices, deepening awareness and connection with the environment.
Experience elements of Finnish wellbeing culture, such as sauna rituals.
Develop practical tools and techniques to cultivate focus, calmness, and presence in both personal and professional contexts.
Promoting intercultural co-operation.
Intercultural learning, establishing contacts with potential partners for future cooperation and exchange.
The course meets the Quality standards for courses under Key Action 1 (learning mobility of individuals.

We are secondary school teachers and teachers of Yoga, Mindfulness & Meditation, and Pilates.
